Pair in court over Stourbridge lockdown breaches

A Kingswinford woman who admitted lockdown breaches in February has been ordered to pay £794 in fines and costs. Zynia Louise Maylyn, aged 40, of Beech Road, admitted participating in an indoor gathering of more than two people at an address in Greenfields Road, Kingswinford; refusing to leave the premises and go home. possessing cannabis; and obstructing a police officer.

A Brierley Hill man must pay out nearly £11,000 for botched repairs on a Halesowen couple’s home which left the roof leaking. Gary Mark Chance, aged 58, of Sedgeford Close, admitted two charges under the Consumer Protection Act involving roof repairs for a couple living at Hurst Green Road in Halesowen. Stourbridge man fined £5,000 over electrical hazard

A Stourbridge man has been hit with a ‘bill’ of £7,481 after he admitted allowing premises to be used which were shut for safety reasons. Dharminder Singh Dale, of Platts Crescent, had knowingly allowed a building in Walsall to be used when it had been prohibited under the Housing Act because of an electrical hazard. He was fined £5,000, ordered to pay £2,300 costs and to pay £181 into the victim services fund.

Brierley Hill racial assault

A Brierley Hill 61-year-old has been ordered to pay £690 for a racial assault. David Stephen Stephens, of Church Hill, pleaded guilty to a racially aggravated assault on Farhan Khalid in Dudley last July. He was fined £400 and ordered to pay £250 compensation and £40 into the victim services fund.

Big fine for Quarry Bank drink-driver

A Quarry Bank drink-driver has been hit with a £1,500 fine and banned from driving for 26 weeks. Christian Leipacher, aged 47, of Judge Road, admitted driving a BMW sports car in Providence Street, Lye, when three times over the limit. He must also pay £285 in costs.

Stourbridge man found guilty of assault

A Stourbridge man has been ordered to undertake treatment for alcoholism and put on a curfew after being found guilty of assault. Kieran Ashley Russell, aged 29, of Collis Street, had denied the charge of beating Daniel Rumble. He was placed on a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement and placed on a 7pm to 7am electronically tagged curfew for 12 weeks. He must also pay £600 in compensation and costs.

Ban for Stourbridge drink-driver

A Stourbridge woman who drove while over the limit has been banned for 16 months and ordered to pay £369. Kayleigh Rose John, aged 23, of Dell Road, Bromley, admitted being over the limit while driving on Dudley Road. She had 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35. She was fined £200 and ordered to pay £169 costs.
