BRSK is on a mission to get Dudley Borough switched on digitally.

The company is no stranger to winning awards and spokesman Anil Kumar said: "To win an award from the community that we're building in would mean so much.”

Anil pulls no punches, he added: "Dudley Borough is terribly underserved digitally and way behind the national average for full fibre connectivity - that's why we're here. We want to change that and make Dudley one of the best areas instead.”

BRSK has already pumped a cool £30 million into transforming broadband in Dudley and the wider Black Country.

They've also supported local businesses, charities and sports clubs, while at the same time offering world class broadband to communal hubs and schools free of charge.

Anil said: "Being a finalist is not only really appreciated but also an incredible way to meet other businesses who are trying positively to change the lives of local residents.”

CONNECT2DUDLEY have only been in existence for the past 12 month - yet already the enterprise has made a difference to people's lives.

The objective of CONNECT2DUDLEY is to get people back on their feet and into work.

They have already established links with local authorities, schools, colleges, academies and the NHS.

CONNECT2DUDLEY Business Manager Shabana Iqbal said: "Winning the New Business award would mean so much as it would help promote the service we offer to local authorities and public sector organisations across the region. The feedback we get from people we have helped shows we are making a difference. Our objective is to provide local jobs for local people.

"Hopefully by winning the award, it would encourage more Dudley residents to register with us so that we can help them find new job opportunities.”

JILL Rhoden never realised the impact she would make when she opened a secure dog field in Halesowen to the public.

The response was overwhelming as owners brought their dogs to run free in the field from far and wide.

Such a simple idea has proved a huge hit with dog lovers as it provides a secure area for dogs and owners alike.

Meadow View Mutts , which is situated in Lye Close, is now a thriving enterprise where owners can hire the field for dogs to run around to their hearts content.

Jill said: " Our clients love visiting the field as they know they're in a safe and secure environment.

"It's something that has been much needed by the public within the community.

"We have so many lovely clients and nominating us for this award makes all the hard work behind the scenes so worthwhile knowing that we have their support and continue to do so, week by week.”
