A BARREL loads of laughs will be on tap at a free weekend comedy festival in Cradley Heath – headlined by TV comic Angelos Epithemiou.

Opening on Thursday (July 19), more than 60 comics are taking part in the annual Bushfest at the Holly Bush Arts Centre.

The curtain will rise on the four day event at 7.30pm, continuing on Friday from 7.30pm, Saturday from 2pm and Sunday from 3pm.

The line-up includes several professional and breakthrough acts from around the country, as well as top local favourites.

But organisers have bagged top TV act Angelos – well known for his stint on Shooting Stars – to perform from 8pm on Saturday (July 21).

Dave Francis, organiser, said: “Admission is on a first come, first served basis. It is expected to be busy for Angelos so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.”

Entry to the Newtown Lane venue is free with the option to donate to the performer at the end of each show and the full line-up can be found online by searching ‘Bushfest comedy weekend’ on Facebook.

The festival – which is born from the weekly open mic comedy night which runs every Thursday at 8pm – is being staged in association with Blue Giraffe Comedy and Teme Valley Brewery, Worcester.
