JAZZ is heading to Halesowen this weekend as the town becomes part of a regional festival for the first time.

Halesowen Jazz Festival will present a free entertainment filled day of top local jazz acts to crowds in the town centre on Saturday (July 28).

In association with Halesowen BID, the event will see a jazz stage set up in Somers Square, with top class jazz and blues being performed between 10.30am and 5pm.

Three acts, including Les Zauto Stompers de Paris, who have jetted over from France, Europa Jazz Band and Enrico Tomasso, and Ricky Cool and the In Crowd will be among the performers.

But kicking off the day at 10am will be the Cannon Jazz Dancers, who will be performing outside St John’s Church, followed by ‘All About Swing’, which includes a free swing dance class between 10.30am and 11.30am.

Over at the Cornbow Shopping Centre, the BUGS Ukulele Strummers will putting on a show at various times throughout the day, while there will be colouring and crafts to keep the kids entertained.

The event is part of the 33rd annual Birmingham Jazz Festival.
