MANY people will remember Darius Campbell for singing Baby One More Time during his Pop Idol audition.
Others will think of him and immediately get his catchy debut, Colourblind, stuck in their head.
But these days, the platinum-selling recording artist, actor, film producer, Sunday Times best-selling author and Prince's Trust ambassador can be found touring the UK with Funny Girl - The Musical.
This show tells the story of Fanny Brice (played by Natasha J Barnes), whose vocal talents and comedic ability see her rise from Brooklyn music hall singer to Broadway star - and it's heading to Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre later this month.
Darius, who stars as the leading man Nick Arnstein, said: “Funny Girl is the jewel in the crown of musicals and we’re so lucky to be entertaining audiences up and down the country with it.
“Fanny was someone who didn’t entirely fit in and I think we can all relate to that. People want to feel part of something, they want to feel special and Fanny Brice was one of those individuals who set her own path, a feminist icon who really created a huge impact.
"It’s great to be able to help tell her story onstage.
"I’m really looking forward to visiting Wolverhampton and I’d love to see some faces at the stage door afterwards!”
Funny Girl, which boasts some of the most iconic songs in film and theatre history, including People and Don’t Rain On My Parade, will run from July 24-29.
