Grime star Stormzy has reached out to people who were affected when a sudden crowd surge interrupted his set at last weekend’s Boardmasters festival.
He paused his gig as the scuffle erupted, reportedly leaving three people in hospital with bone fractures.
Posting an image from the show on Instagram, he wrote: “Boardmasters 2017, love you and thank you for an incredible show.
“Sending my love to the people in the front row following the crowd incident, hope you’re all blessed.”
Following the London-based star’s performance at the Newquay event on Sunday, organisers posted a statement on Facebook that read: “Due to massive excitement at the start of Stormzy’s set tonight, there was a brief surge at the front of the audience.
“Those involved were immediately assisted by the pit team. We would like to extend our thanks to Stormzy for briefly pausing his set to calm the audience.”
Stormzy also posted a tribute to his Boardmasters experience by tweeting an image with the simple caption: “Boardmasters 2017.”
It follows his announcement that he will be fronting a new ad campaign for Adidas UK and JD Sports.
