THE Fizzogs are hoping to wow their American fans across the Pond with their Dancing Grannies act when they head to New York.

The Black Country comedy act plan to jet off this summer to strut their stuff on the streets of the Big Apple - instead of making their usual appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Sue Hawkins, Deb Nicholls and Jacky Fellows have already been booked to perform their hilarious Grannies routine at the Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix in April - and the decision to head to New York follows numerous requests from American fans.

Fizzog Deb Nicholls said: “The plan is to take America by storm. We aim to flash mob in New York this summer as the Americans keep asking when we are coming over.

“It'll cost an arm and a leg to get there so we are looking for sponsorship."

The group's Dancing Grannies routine has been seen by more than 300 million people on social media and their flash mobs have gone down a storm at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Grand Central Birmingham where pop star Peter Andre joined them on stage in October.

The Fizzogs have also staged a series of laugh-out-loud shows - the latest of which, Suck it and See, is currently touring the Midlands.

Performances closest to home include: The Rose Theatre, Kidderminster, on February 4, the Atrix Theatre, Bromsgrove, on March 11, and the Swan Theatre, Worcester, on March 24.
