DUDLEY Little Theatre is to bring Blood Brothers to the stage once again to mark the start of its 70th anniversary season.

Written by Willy Russell - the popular play is being presented at Netherton Arts Centre from September 20 to 23, having been chosen by supporters of the long-running theatre company.

The theatre company staged the play a few years ago but it proved so popular audience members voted for it to kick-start this year's milestone anniversary season which will also see A Christmas Carol staged in December, Terence Ratigan's The Deep Blue Sea performed next March and comedy favourite 'Allo 'Allo! brought to life next May.

Blood Brothers tells the uncomfortable tale of twin brothers Mickey and Eddie -separated at birth - who live completely contrasting lives; one enjoys the comfort and security of his wealthy, adopted family while the other accepts his own hand-to-mouth existence.

When they meet they become life-long friends – blood brothers – but the difference in their backgrounds becomes increasingly clear and the deception surrounding their relationship becomes harder to conceal.

Tickets cost £8 (concessions £7) and are available online at www.dudleylittletheatre.org or from Chris Ridgeway on 01384 872583 or from the box office on the night.
