A WORLD renowned hair stylist stopped off in Dudley this morning to open Dudley College’s new hair and beauty facilities.
Wella expert, Patrick Cameron, officially launched the new salon in the college’s new £30m Evolve campus in Tower Street, before demonstrating his own long hair styling skills for students and staff.
The state-of-the art hair salon also boasts six beauty therapy rooms to provide vocational training to its pupils and apprentices.
Beverley Hunter, Centre Manager for Hair and Beauty, said: “We are absolutely thrilled and over the moon to open these facilities and we are delighted Patrick Cameron was able to visit. He is a superstar in the hair world, so this is a fantastic opportunity and experience for our students as well as the staff to meet him and watch him carry out some of his creations.”
The salon, which is open to the public, offers numerous hair and beauty treatments throughout the week and Tuesday evenings.
Speaking about the new department, Patrick Cameron, said: “I think these facilities are amazing, totally amazing. It is so important that we get our young people equipped on the road for industry and it is really important that students feel happy to come to a place which inspires them. These facilities are right in the heart of Dudley and encapsulate that whole feeling of working in a commercial salon. Dudley is really lucky to have it.”
