THE Black Country Living Museum will feature on a new BBC2 drama series airing from next week.

Dancing on the Edge by award-winning filmmaker Stephen Poliakoff tells the tale of black jazz musicians in the early 1930s as they find fame in London’s upper class society.

The five-part series has an all-star cast including John Goodman, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthew Goode, Anthony Head and Mel Smith and will begin on Monday (February 4) and will continue the following day and then every Monday after.

Harriet Lawrence, Location Manager, said: “The Black Country Living Museum is amazing – it is a perfect Victorian village.

“We didn’t need to remove TV aerials, burglar alarms, change door furniture, clear cars, cover street markings or remove signs. It was a Location Manager’s dream! Stephen loved it and, in fact, we filmed several scenes that had been scheduled for elsewhere.”

Andrew Lovett, Director and Chief Executive of Black Country Living Museum said: “The Museum and the West Midlands region have so many unique locations to offer. In partnership with Creative England, we are working to attract more filming and let the rest of the country see just what an exceptional place Black Country Living Museum is.”
