WREN'S Nest Community Centre is set to get creative with regular sessions of family fun for all ages.

On Saturday June 1 people from the Wren’s Nest area, supported by Dudley Council and Dudley Council for Voluntary Services, will provide a range of activities at the Summer Road centre and it is hoped similar days will be run every two weeks..

From 1 to 4pm there will be indoor and outdoor sports, creative craft-making and baking sessions for decorating biscuits and cakes, which will be eaten at the end of the session.

The event is bringing other community groups together to collaborate and provide more varied activities.

The Wren’s Nest, Priory, Greens Youth United (WPGYU) will be running a football coaching sessions and the Rising Star Academy will run a street beatz session during the afternoon.

Councillor Stuart Turner, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “The Creative Saturdays will have something for all of the family to get involved with and perhaps learn some new skills.

“As a community council we very much hope that these fortnightly creative sessions will prove to be as popular as the successful WPGYU and the Rising Star Academy groups.”
