DUDLEY residents can bag a bargain to make the most of their waste during National Compost Awareness Week, which starts on Monday May 5.
Borough people are being encouraged to make compost in their gardens using outdoor bins which are being sold for as little as £14.98 as part of a buy-one-get-one-half-price promotion during the event.
Items suitable for home composting including fruit and vegetable peelings, garden waste and shredded paper. The waste breaks down naturally to produce a fertiliser, which can be used to grow tasty fruit and vegetables and beautiful blooming flowers.
John Millar, Dudley Council director of urban environment, said: “This is a fantastic offer and we hope that lots of our residents will get together to save money on composting.
Compost bins can be ordered online at www.getcomposting.com, or by phoning 0844 571 4444. The offer is available on selected products only and a one-off delivery charge of £5.99 applies.
