A KATES Hill man has been banned from driving for 24 months for drink driving.

Paul Griffin, aged 35, of Cornflower Crescent, was also fined £200 and ordered to pay £87 court costs by Dudley Magistrates Court on Tuesday January 2.

Also on Tuesday January 2: m Anthony James Campbell, aged 24, of Darlaston Close, Netherton, was handed a 12-month community order and ordered to carry out 40 hours' unpaid work for possessing the class C drug cannabis.

The defendant was also handed six licence points, ordered to pay £172 court costs and handed a 12-month community order, to run concurrently, for driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

m Stuart Patrick John O'Farrell, aged 24, of Malvern Crescent, Holly Hall, was handed six licence points, fined £95 and ordered to pay £43 court costs for driving without a licence or insurance.

m Michael Shaw, aged 18, of Ash Road, Priory, Dudley, was given a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £200 compensation and £172 court costs for causing £200 worth of damage to a fire door.

m John Christopher Williams, aged 24, of Fens Crescent, Brierley Hill, was given a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £600 compensation and £87 court costs for causing £600 worth of damage to a Fiat car.

On Wednesday January 3: m Karwan Bake, aged 33, of Thornhill Road, Priory, Dudley, was fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £87 court costs on two counts of being in possession of class A drugs diamorphine (heroin) and crack cocaine.

m Kenneth Thomas Hardwick, aged 52, of Matlock Close, Netherton, was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £270 and ordered to pay £150 court costs for drink driving.

On Thursday December 21: m Dorothy Ann Ball, aged 56, of High Street, Pensnett, was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £200 and ordered to pay £60 court costs for drink driving.

m Lance Bloomer, aged 18, of Peel Street, Kates Hill, had his unpaid work extended by 60 hours for failing to attend existing unpaid work as part of a community order.

m Carol Ann Thompson, aged 22, of Bunns Lane, Dudley, was handed a three-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, for failing to comply with the requirements of a community order.

m Verona Reeves, aged 45, of Primrose Park, Brierley Hill, was handed a 24-month community order and ordered to pay £170 court costs for stealing a credit card belonging to the Royal Bank of Scotland, stealing £300 belonging to Barclays Bank, stealing clothes worth £44.50 from Ethel Austin, stealing £200 from the Royal Bank of Scotland and stealing £50.02, £54.83 and £86.81 worth of groceries from Tesco.

m Glenys Jean Beddard, aged 55, of Haig Road, Roseland Estate, Dudley, was fined £250 and ordered to pay £175 costs for dishonestly obtaining income support after failing to notify of a change of circumstances and working under the name of Glenys Thompson.

m Colin Andrew Tennant, aged 39, of Ashenhurst Road, Russells Hall, Dudley, was handed a 12-month community order, ordered to carry out 15 hours' unpaid work, pay £100 compensation and £43 court costs for assault.

The defendant was also handed a 12-month community order, to run concurrently, and ordered to pay £100 compensation on a separate count of assault.

m William Mochan, aged 41, of Granville Road, Russells Hall, Dudley, was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £170 court costs for assaulting a police officer.

On Friday December 22: m Geoffrey Paul Atkiss, aged 26, of Highgate Road, Holly Hall, Dudley, was handed six licence points, fined £375 and ordered to pay £60 court costs for driving without a licence or insurance and failing to produce a licence to a police officer.

m Charanjit Chalinkria, aged 29, of Hillside, Dudley, was handed six licence points, fined £150 and ordered to pay £43 court costs for driving without insurance.

m Jamie Keith Bennett, aged 20, of Norton Crescent, Netherton, was handed an 18-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £87 court costs and £50 compensation for destroying a pane of glass worth £50.
