WHILE northern Britain braces itself for winter weather the Midlands looks set to escape the worst of the storms.
The Met Office has amber and yellow warnings in place across the country for snow, stormy conditions and ice as arctic air blows in from the north.
Staffordshire has a yellow warning for people to be aware of possible disruption and at the moment the West Midlands remains clear.
