A DUDLEY businesswoman's dreams have come true as she has just opened her second nursery in the town.

Debbie Latewood opened the first Fairytales Day Nursery on Bourne Street 11 years ago.

The nursery caters for 75 children from the ages of six weeks to five-years-old and has been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.

She decided the time was right to expand the business when the Government announcement it would offer 30 hours of free childcare for working parents of three and four-year-olds from 2016.

Debbie rented a building on St James Road that had planning permission to be converted into a nursery and used a £71,000 loan from Lloyds Bank to support the renovation.

The new nursery accommodates both public and privately funded places, for up to 60 children and has created 13 full-time jobs, in addition to the 17 members of staff at the nursery’s original site.

Debbie said: “Opening a second nursery has always been a dream of mine and I’m really pleased that Lloyds Bank has been able to help me achieve that vision.

"The loan has been used to create a beautiful space for the children to have a lot fun in, as well as to allow them to develop their confidence and personal skills."

Sarah Woodward, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank, said: “Given the regional demand for quality childcare, it was the right time for Debbie to set up her second nursery.

"It will also allow for working parents to take advantage of the new Government initiative for extended childcare."
