AN outdated Dudley office block could soon be transformed into 141 flats as part of a £14m regeneration project.

Falcon House has been snapped up by young developer Arran Bailey, who hopes the project will "bring more footfall" to the town by "attracting young professionals".

The 29-year-old owner of ALB Black Country Properties Ltd, hopes Dudley Council will give him the go-ahead to transform the eight-storey building into 65 one bedroom and 76 two bedroom apartments.

He said: “The local area has been in need of new housing developments and we can confirm that the apartments that are being developed will be of high specification.

"Regeneration of the building will be beneficial to the local residents and the local economy.

"The project is a great opportunity to bring more footfall to the town by attracting young professionals and that is who the apartments are being targeted at."

Mr Bailey said the project would help to boost the local economy and improve the area’s image by "updating outdated buildings", adding: “This is a fantastic project for us and we have received a lot of positive feedback already following the plans.

"We are very much looking forward to the start of the project so people can start to see the benefit of the regeneration.”

Leeds based Headoffice3 has designed the development and will be managing the works to complete in 2017 with a start on site scheduled this year.

Income through property specialist Prosperity has acquired the site as part of its £100 million buy-to-let investment portfolio.
