I STILL fail to be amazed at how fickle and forgetful people can be.
Prior to the local elections Councillor (as was then) Malcolm Davis was our hero or at least 23,000 of us that signed the petition against the building of the mosque in Hall Street.
He was the people's voice on the matter.
Yet come the election the voters (or at least those who bothered to vote) booted him out giving him less than a quarter of the vote.
The people that snubbed him may well live to regret it for there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the mosque issue will soon again be on us and with no Malcolm Davis on the council - what then?
To the 23,000 - you may well be needed again, sooner than you think.
Finally, to the ramblings of Mr Sardar Pappu Singh in the May 10 letters section where he suggests that Malcolm may now turn the attention elsewhere - maybe the BNP?
Well what's the matter Mr Sardar Pappu Singh, are we playing the race card again?
