THE first CGI-animated film to be rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America is hitting cinemas across the borough this week.
Sausage Party is a parody of Disney and Pixar animated films, featuring “very strong language and strong sex references”, and follows the story of a hot dog sausage who tries to discover the truth about his existence and goes on a journey with his friends to escape their fate.
It stars an ensemble voice cast that includes Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton and Salma Hayek.
After being released in the United States earlier this month, the film – rated 15 – received positive reviews from critics and has already grossed $77 million on its $19 million budget.
Catch the adult-animated comedy at Dudley Showcase, Merry Hill Odeon or Reel Cinema in Quinton from Friday (September 2).
