TWO Dudley nature reserves and a community garden project are set to bag a cash boost under the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.
Saltwells Nature Reserve, Fens Pool Nature Reserve and the Growing our Community Together project will each receive a minimum of £8,000 under the initiative, which is being run by Tesco and Groundwork under the 5p bag levy.
People can help to boost the amount each project receives to £10,000 or £12,000 by voting in the participating Tesco stores.
The money will be used to create a new sculpture trail at Saltwells Nature Reserve and to make improvements to footpaths and signs around the Buckpool at Fens Pool Nature Reserve.
Growing Our Community Together, which is a mutual collaboration between Brockmoor Primary and the Friends of Marsh Park and Lawyer’s Field, will utilise the cash to create a community garden and orchard with new fruit trees and a new learning zone for school pupils.
Voting is open in stores from September 26 to October 9 and three projects are competing in each area.
Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.
