DUDLEY'S MPs went head-to-head during a fundraising quiz for the YMCA’s Open Door Project.

Ten teams - including two captained by Mike Wood, Conservative MP for Dudley South and Ian Austin, Labour MP for Dudley North - battled it out at Dudley’s DY1 venue answering questions on a range of subjects from local news to Stormzy.

Scores were very close and at the end of the night, leading to Mr Austin jokingly asking for a recount when his team finished on 96 points and Mr Wood's finished on 98.

Rachael Taylor, YMCA Open Door Project manager, said: “Both of the Dudley MPs have been very supportive of our project which finds accommodation for homeless teenagers with host families in the community. It was great to have them both at the quiz which raised over £300 for our project.”

Mr Wood added: “I thoroughly enjoyed last Thursday’s quiz night and my thanks go out to all of the teams and organisers who make the quiz a huge success each year.

"YMCA Open Door is a brilliant cause and it is always an honour to support them.”
