A TEENAGER who was caught with a machete in Cradley has been sent to a young offender institution for 20 weeks.

Usman Jamal, aged 19, of Stourdell Road, Halesowen, had the weapon in Windmill Hill on August 15.

He must pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Aldona Swiderek, aged 33, of Stourbridge Road, Russells Hall, was given a 12 month community order for stealing items, worth £79.50, from shops in Dudley and Brierley Hill between March 29 and July 2. She must pay a victim surcharge of £85.

Sarah Lynzi Bishop, aged 30, of Wendover Road, Rowley Regis, was fined £120 for drink driving in West Bromwich on July 31. When tested, she had 41mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. She was also sentenced for driving without a licence or insurance. Bishop was disqualified from driving for 12 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £135 court costs.

Wayne Terrence Cooper, aged 56, of Dormston Drive, Sedgley, was given a 12 month community order for assaulting a man in Darlaston on May 17. He must carry out 100 hours unpaid work and pay £100 compensation, a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs.

Sanjeet Grewal, aged 35, of Stone Street, Dudley, was given a 12 month community order for possessing offensive weapons – a hockey stick and a knuckle duster – in Dudley town centre on July 29. He must carry out 80 hours unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs.

Timothy Peter Williams, aged 33, of Durham Road, Rowley Regis, was given a 12 month community order for stealing a charity box from Church View Pharmacy in Warley on May 21 and taking a bottle of Baileys and six packets of cigarettes, worth £86, from Centre Point, Halesowen, between May 11 and 13. Williams was also sentenced for taking cheese and tobacco, worth £25, from MGB News, Cradley Heath, and failing to provide a non-intimate sample for the purpose of ascertaining whether he had a class A drug in his body. He must pay compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs.

Jessica Sarah Roberts, aged 30, of Cot Lane, Kingswinford, was given a four month community order for stealing ink cartridges and external hard drives, worth £430, from Tesco, Dudley, on August 15. She was given a four month curfew and for the duration must remain at her home address between 8pm and 6am. She must pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £185 court costs.

Costel-Lucian Izdrail, aged 30, of Halesowen Road, Netherton, was fined £300 for drink driving in Rowley Regis on August 16. When tested, he had 47mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was also fined £200 for driving without a licence or insurance on August 16. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £130 court costs.

David Luke Silk, aged 23, of Wassell Road, Stourbridge, was fined £300 for assaulting a woman in Halesowen on August 2. He was also sentenced for causing £100 worth of damage to a window. He must pay compensation of £50 and £135 court costs.

Gavin Garratt, aged 30, of Gervaise Close, Brierley Hill, was sent to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for six months, for stealing pens, worth £346.82, from Ryman, Dudley, on March 22 and 27 and April 5. He must pay £346.82 compensation.

Donna Denise Short, aged 59, of Milton Street, Brierley Hill, was sent to prison for six weeks, suspended for 12 months, for ill-treating or wilfully neglecting a person in her care in Pensnett on May 23. She was given a three month curfew and for the duration must remain at her home address between 7pm and 7am. She must pay a victim surcharge of £115 and £185 court costs.

Graham Ronald Dewes, aged 62, of Fairlawns Drive, Kingswinford, was given a 10 week community order for drink driving in Kingswinford on August 5. When tested, he had 98mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was given a 10 week curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 7pm and 3am. He was disqualified from driving for 24 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs.
