KIDDERMINSTER 4X and BMX rider Scott Beaumont was back in action in the final round of the 2018 British Cycling 4X National Series.

He sought to build upon his recent ninth win at the British 4X Championships by snatching an unlikely series win.

Beaumont went into the 6th and final round of racing having it all to do having had to sit out two of the earlier rounds in the season. Despite that though, with a win still possible, it was a case of ‘impossible is nothing’ for Scott.

He said: “The chances of me being able to win the overall title were slim but mathematically possible. I had to win every race and rely on other riders finishing outside the top 3.

“In the final I made a perfect start and managed to win the race, leading from start to finish. It was the perfect end to an amazing year. After winning the 4X National Championships two weeks ago, being able to win the overall series title is incredible.”

Next up for Beaumont is the final race of the BMX National Series in Leicester at the end of September where he will be looking for a strong result to qualify for the 2019 BMX World Championships.
