A WOMAN was punched in the face during an attempted robbery in Brierley Hill.
The 18-year-old was approached by a man in Withymoor Park, off Turners Lane, at 1.50pm on September 7.
He shouted abuse before launching into an attack, punching her in the face repeatedly.
The man tried to steal her handbag, but she managed to keep hold of it and break free as the suspect left empty handed, walking in the direction of the children’s play park.
Once he’d left she called police to report the offence and described the offender as a white man in his late 20s, 5ft 8ins tall with dark hair, stubble.
At the time he was dressed in a dark blue tracksuit and ‘acting like he was on drugs’.
The victim went to hospital for an assessment having sustained swelling and bruising to her face, eyes and ears and was later discharged to recover at home.
