WRESTLING legend Kendo Nagasaki will climb into the ring at Dudley Town Hall on Saturday October 27 to launch his autobiography Kendo Nagasaki and the man behind the Mask, which forms part of a bid to raise a million pounds for the Lee Rigby-Kendo Nagasaki Foundation.

Established in memory of the soldier murdered in South London during 2013, the foundation has received staunch support from Kendo while Lee's mother Lyn Rigby will also be at Dudley to ceremonially remove the former heavyweight star's famous striped mask before book goes on sale at the venue, where Nagasaki will be signing copies during the interval.

Nagasaki, alias Peter Thornley, became an overnight sensation when winning an epic Hanley battle to end the long unbeaten run of another masked star Count Bartelli before going on to headline bills around the country and abroad including regular appearances during wrestling's spots in the original 'World of Sport' programmes.

The book has a foreword by Lyn Rigby and also contains contributions from 'Gorgeous George,' Kendo's long-time ring spokesman/manager, and Roz MacDonald.

Wrestling has now made an explosive return to ITV with Saturday afternoon action under a new 'World of Sport' banner and one of the top challengers to emerge, Mexican style high-flier El Ligero will be a Dudley event star as he faces explosive Australian newcomer Sean Custom.

The Town Hall bill, starting at 6pm, will also include Superslam Championship action as reigning title holder Oliver Grey bids to move nearer completing a full year has holder of the prestigious title.

He faces a tough test from long-haired battler Bram, who originally made his name campaigning as Brandon T before heading to America to see action for Florida Championship Wrestling and later TNA.

Other featured stars include Stoke-born favourite Dean Allmark and north east force Tony Spitfire.

There will be ladies action with local girl Joss Copping getting a crack at Xia Brookside who has returned after summer success in Japan and the United States.

Tickets, including a special £45 family offer covering two adults and two children under 16, are on sale at the Town Hall Box Office by calling 01384 812812.
