A DUDLEY retirement home has undergone a £435,000 refurbishment.

Residents at Chaddesley Court marked the completion of the work – which involved improvements in lighting, furniture and décor in communal areas – by enjoying a special lunch with guests.

Housing association Stonewater’s transformation of the 49-apartment building is part of an ongoing £9m upgrade to its retirement living schemes across the country.

Sue Shirt, Stonewater’s executive director of housing, said: “It was wonderful to spend the morning with Chaddesley Court residents, celebrating a refurbishment that truly fulfils Stonewater’s long-term vision of creating environments our residents are proud of.

Chaddesley Court resident Janet Tarplee said: “We recently moved to Chaddesley Court, we viewed a few other schemes but we had seen nothing like this one. It is beautiful here, we love it.

“We moved in as the scheme was being modernised and it is better than we could have imagined; the colours are vibrant and the scheme has become a hive of activity.”
