A KINGSWINFORD road will close for emergency repairs to take place before next week's High Street resurfacing.

Standhills Road will be closed between The Portway and The Knoll from 9am on Friday January 4 until Sunday January 6.

The road will be closed to allow Amey to carry out emergency repairs to a burst sewer on behalf of Severn Trent Water.

A diversion route will be in place via The Portway, Oakfield Avenue, The Knoll and vice versa.

The contractor has been made aware that the work must be finished by January 6 at the latest, as resurfacing work to the High Street begins on Monday January 7.

The High Street in Kingswinford, also known as the A4101, will be closed between Market Street and Standhills Road on weekdays from Monday January 7 to Monday January 21 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Traffic will be diverted via Market Street, Stream Road, Bromley Lane, Standhills Road and vice versa while the works are in place.

Drivers have been told to expect delays and if possible to use alternative routes while the works are taking place.
