KIND-HEARTED staff and members of Dudley Building Society in Brierley Hill made a bumper donation to Black Country Food Bank to ensure supplies are topped up for the New Year.

The Building Society has been collecting donations over the festive period to ensure the bank has a replenished stock of supplies going into January, to help people struggling in the community.

Jeremy Wood, chief executive of Dudley Building Society, said: "The festive period can be such a challenge for local families to out food on the table, forcing foodbanks to come under additional pressure.

"We thought it would be helpful to collect for Black Country Foodbank to support in making sure their stock levels are healthy to enable them to continue the amazing work they do locally."

Mike Crook, from Black Country Foodbank added: "We have had some great support over the months in the run up to the festive period, really reflecting the generosity of local people.

"Our challenge is now to encourage donations between now and the summer months."
