WARRINGTON could be hit by flooding today, Tuesday.
The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the Mersey Estuary running through the town this lunchtime.
A combination of high tides and a tidal surge has resulted in the warning.
High tides are expected between 12pm and 2pm today, before easing by this evening.
The alert affects areas including Latchford, Howley, Westy, Sankey Bridges, Lower Walton, Paddington, Centre Park and Fiddlers Ferry.
