RESIDENTS in Lye and Wollescote are invited to a public meeting to discuss community issues.

Ward councillors are calling the meeting which will be held at Christ Church, Lye High Street, on Tuesday February 12, starting at 7pm.

Councillor Mohammed Hanif, former Mayor of Dudley, said the meeting was the third in a series called to update residents and business bosses on measures being taken to help improve the area after concerns were raised about fly-tipping, crime, rogue landlords and possible human trafficking in the town.

He said: "Everyone is welcome. The last two meetings involved 200 or more and have been really worthwhile in highlighting issues and strengthening our hand in getting more badly-needed resources.

"We will let local people know what has been done and what is planned.

"More importantly this meeting will provide another opportunity for people to voice their concerns and put forward their ideas about how we keep moving forward.

"We will, again, provide an interpreter as this was welcomed by all at the last meeting."
