Police are searching for an elderly mobility scooter rider involved in a hit and run that left a woman with a broken hip.
The scooter rider hit the pedestrian, who was also described as elderly, as she walked along Blackheath High Street on Friday, February 8.
Police are viewing CCTV footage from the area to try to identify the mobility scooter rider involved in the incident outside The Vine pub at around 11.15am.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and was taken to Russells Hall Hospital with a suspected broken hip.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said the victim had undergone surgery on her leg and officers were going to the hospital to take a statement from her.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to Blackheath High Street at around 11.14am on Friday, February 8, following reports of a collision between a mobility scooter and an elderly pedestrian.
“One ambulance was sent to the scene.
“We treated a woman for her injuries and transferred her to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment.”
West Midlands Police urged anyone with information to call 101, quoting 951 of February 8.
