A WOMAN has spoken of her distress after her family's two cars were spray painted in an unprovoked act of vandalism while they were on holiday.

The woman, who does not wish to be named, was on holiday in India with her husband and two young sons when she received a message from a neighbour telling her that their cars had been vandalised on their drive in Upper Gornal.

She checked her home CCTV online to discover that the family's BMW M4 and Mercedes A Class cars had been spray painted by a masked vandal.

The vandalism happened during the early hours of February 22 on Harvard Close in Upper Gornal and is all captured on CCTV.

The video shows a masked male repeatedly circle both cars while spraying them with paint.

She said: "I was shocked, I'm really worried now. We live in a cul-de-sac and it was just our cars that were targeted. Why hasn't it happened to anybody else? I'm thinking, what next?"

"It's a lovely cul-de-sac, we get on really well with our neighbours. To have something like this happen is really unsettling."

"I'm really anxious with the crime that's going on in Gornal, it's worrying. I thought there more chance of the cars being stolen, but this is much more personal and vicious."

A police spokesperson confirmed they were investigating and said: "Enquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight, call 101 anytime or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
