HOME Bargains has admitted two health and safety charges after a delivery driver was crushed to death at its Dudley store.
TJ Morris trading as Home Bargains pleaded guilty to failing to assess risks to the health and safety of workers after the tragedy in September 2013.
The firm further admitted failing to ensure all persons working equipment had available all the relevant safety information.
Driver Gary Pickering, a father of four from Manchester, was crushed to death while making a delivery to the Home Bargains store in the Churchill Precinct in Dudley.
Afterwards his wife Sharon described him as a devoted husband and father and said the family had been devastated by his loss.
TJ Morris is based in the Gillmoss area of Liverpool.
The case against the firm will be outlined in full by Mr Kevin Hegarty QC prosecuting when the case reopens today (Wednesday) with Mr Andrew Langdon QC representing the company.
It is then expected Judge Amjad Nawaz will hit the firm with a sizeable financial penalty made up of fines and costs.
