HALESOWEN MP James Morris has pledged to vote for a no deal Brexit - and said he is confident the country could make it work.

James Morris MP said he wanted to make his position clear to his constituents. He said: "We are 16 days away from leaving the European Union.

"Parliament needs to make a decision.

"I will be voting today for a no deal Brexit.

"I have made repeated commitments to people in Halesowen and Rowley Regis that I will do everything I can to ensure we leave the European Union on 29th March.

"I will continue to stand by that.

"I do not believe the repeated claims of doom associated with no deal, and have every confidence that our country will make it work."

Last night the House of Commons voted against the Prime Minister's Brexit deal. Mr Morris has consistently supported the PM in her Brexit negotiations.
