THE headteacher of a Sedgley primary school has paid a touching tribute to ten-year-old crash victim Sanjay Singh, describing him as an 'absolute privilege and joy to teach'.

Sanjay, from Dudley, was a pupil at Cotwall End Primary School in Sedgley.

He was killed with his 23-month old brother Pawanveer in a crash on the Birmingham New Road in Wolverhampton last Thursday, when their mother's car was hit by an Audi S3.

Claire Williams, headteacher at Cotwall End Primary, called Sanjay 'the life and soul of the class'.

She added that the school is working to support staff and pupils, who have been left 'devastated' by the loss of Sanjay.

She said: “We are all completely devastated at the loss of our much loved pupil Sanjay Singh and his younger brother.

“Sanjay was a lively and fun boy who was the life and soul of the class, it was an absolute privilege and joy to teach him at our school and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

“On behalf of the school, I have sent my condolences to his family and our thoughts are with everyone who knew him at this difficult time. We will continue to offer support to staff and pupils affected by this tragedy.”
