A ROWLEY Regis man has been arrested after a 29-year-old man suffered a serious head injury in a fight outside a pub.

The victim was taken to hospital following the violent disorder outside the Fox and Goose pub in Greets Green Road, West Bromwich, at around 8pm on Friday (April 5).

He remains in a serious condition.

Police said a 34-year-old man from Rowley Regis had been arrested on suspicion of wounding and is in police custody for questioning.

Officers from West Midlands sealed off the road for a number of hours as the urgent investigation was launched.

A spokesman for the force said: “Police were alerted by ambulance colleagues at 7.55pm last night (5 April) to a disorder at the Fox & Goose pub in Greets Green Road, West Bromwich, and a man found unconscious with a serious head injury.

“The man, aged 29, remains in hospital in a serious condition.

"A 34-year-old man from Rowley Regis has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and is in police custody for questioning.

"Anyone who was at the pub and may have witnessed an argument or the disorder is asked to call WMP on 101 quoting log number 2441 from April 5.
