DUDLEY fundraiser Shaz Saleem will be taking a leap of faith for the British Liver Trust this weekend.

Ambassador to the Mayor of Dudley and chairman of Dudley Private Hire & Taxi Association, Shaz will take on a 160-foot bungee jump off a crane at Cliff Lakes, Tamworth, on Sunday April 28.

The 33-year-old daredevil, who has previously jumped out of a plane for charity and climbed the UK's highest peak Ben Nevis, was aiming to raise £500 but has so far coined in £865 to support patients affected by liver disease.

He said: “This is a very important cause, we often neglect the liver and fail to understand just how important the liver is. I was shocked to learn it is responsible for 500 different functions in the body, it’s a busy little organ.

"The work the trust is doing is amazing and we all have a duty to support one another, so I’m doing my part by taking part in a 160-foot bungee jump."

Anyone wishing to sponsor Shaz can do so online on JustGiving.com or click here.

Audrey Cornelius, fundraising manager at the British Liver Trust, said: “It’s down to the generosity of our supporters that we are able to continue raising vital funds to support our work.

"Good luck and thank you to Shaz for taking on this challenge and helping us raise awareness of the work British Liver Trust does.”
