Firefighters were called to a house fire on Dorchester Road in Weymouth.

The incident happened this morning and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 7.36am.

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Weymouth were sent to a fire at a domestic property in Dorchester Road involving an electricity box which was located on the ground floor.

“The first attending appliance arrived quickly on the scene and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

“Crews requested the attendance of the electricity board to make the property safe.

“Crews also used a small saw to cut away combustible materials form the main fuse.”
