A MAN has sadly died following a crash involving a quad bike.

At 12.47pm on Monday, May 6 there was a crash on a road between the A31 and the A354, one mile north of Winterborne Kingston.

A 61-year-old local man riding a quad bike was travelling toward Blandford when he came off the vehicle and landed in the road.

He sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for emergency treatment.

He sadly died from his injuries in the early hours of this morning surrounded by his family.

Inspector Joe Pardey, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with this man’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

“An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of this collision and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have relevant dashcam footage to please contact Dorset Police.”
