COOKLEY Ladies are celebrating after winning a magnificent double this season.
They have bagged both the Midwest Counties League and Cup.
Cookley Ladies beat their nearest revivals TDMS of Evesham 3-0 with goals from Jess Brett and Caitlyn Walton (2) to secure the league title and promotion.
They played Hereford FC and won a hard fought match to win the league cup with a the solidarity goal from a corner from long-serving captain Jess Rudd.
They won 19 League games, losing and drawing just one game during the season, scoring 109 goals and conceding just 14, with Jess Brett scoring an incredible 47 goals and Caitlyn Walton bagging 31.
The team has evolved over the last 12 months with the integration of the extremely successful under-18s girls team bringing the average age down to just 19.
Cookley have now gained promotion to the West Midland Regional Women's League, tier 6 of the women's football pyramid, and will compete alongside team like semi-professional Stourbridge.
The team will continue to be managed by Simon Johnson with the objective of staying up for two seasons before aiming for promotion.
