Residents on Portland have been asked to keep their windows and doors shut following a fire at an industrial estate.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at Tods Defence Ltd on the Tradecroft Industrial Estate just after 1pm.
Firefighters are currently dealing with the incident.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “We were called to a bonfire which had got out of control and set light to an adjacent skip and its contents. We have a crew from Portland and one from Weymouth in attendance, using two breathing apparatus wearers, one main jet and one hose reel jet. A manitou forklift is also in use to help empty the skip of approximately two tonnes of waste.”
A tweet on the fire service's Twitter page says: "The incident is creating a lot of obnoxious smoke so we’ve asked residents to keep windows and doors closed please."
