Police in Dorchester were called after someone left their dog in a hot car while they went shopping yesterday afternoon.
A spokesman for Dorchester Police said: “We attended an incident where it was reported that someone had left their dog in a car while they went shopping. In this heat even a short time is unacceptable, especially if there is no water or windows open.”
Earlier this month, the Echo reported how the number of reports of dogs being left in hot cars in Dorset increased by 35 per cent between 2017 and 2018.
