HIMLEY Hall and Park looks set to host a bumper set of events this month.

June's programme of events kicks off today (June 2) with the Country Fair and Vintage Transport Show from 10am to 4pm, which will showcase vintage vehicles and steam engines from across the country as well as a brand new country fair.

An open day of the Earl of Dudley’s Memory Garden takes place on Saturday June 8 from 11am to 4pm and on Sunday 9 June from 1pm to 3.30pm.

Visitors will be able to explore the Earl of Dudley’s private garden, which is the last resting place of actress Gertie Millar, wife of the second Earl of Dudley as well as the fourth Earl and his wife the film star Maureen Swanson.

Stalls, organ music and refreshments will also be on hand for guests.

The Go Neon for Neonatal in a 4k colour dash to raise money for the DGNHS charity takes place on Sunday June 9, followed by the West Midlands Light Orchestra taking to the stage to perform a band concert in the park on Sunday 9 June from 2.30pm to 5pm.

Youngsters can see Peppa Pig and George at this year’s Under 5s Day on Friday June 28, which will also feature Himley Beach.

The month closes with the ever popular Armed Forces Day will take place on Sunday 30 June from 11am to 5pm. The free event attracts thousands of people every year to celebrate the work of service men and women past and present.
