ASTWOOD Bank missed the chance to go top of the Worcester County League after losing out in a last ball thriller to Old Elizabethans.

Runs flowed from the word go as wicketkeeper Tom Underhill thumped 64 and found support from Tom Pedley with 22, Pete Alexander 33 and tailender Tom Harris with a very helpful 36.

The Bank's funds were boosted further by a fabulous last wicket partnership of 61 between Dan Thomas on 16 not out and No 11 Jake Price who plundered a tremendous 49 not out.

It enabled the Bank to total 275 for nine from their allotted 45 overs - but it wasn't enough as Elizabethans cashed in when they replied.

Tom Goodwin led the charge with 101 as the Worcester side snatched a winning 279 for seven by hitting four off the last ball.

Bank skipper Pete Alexander said: "It was a great game. The scores were level with three balls to go but Elizabethans managed to crawl over the line off the last ball."

Redditch remain top of the table but they too came unstuck when suffering a seven wicket beating from Stourbridge.

Tom Field fired top score of 49 and found support from Ollie Mason with 34 and Marlon Lokenath on 39 as Redditch posted a target of 201 for eight from a reduced 42 overs.

Stourbridge stormed home in reply to reach 202 for three in the 40th over thanks to opener Jughar Johal who carried his bat to reach 119 not out.

Feckenham remain cut adrift at the bottom after suffering a seven wicket beating from Stourport.

Ryan Derrick ripped out figures of five for 21 while Greg Massingham grabbed four for 21 as Feckenham floundered to 119 all out before Stourport strolled to a winning 120 for three.
