CHILDREN from St Thomas Cantilupe C of E Primary school held a cake sale to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Christian Aid.
The Year 4 pupils decided to raise funds for the RNLI as they had recently been on a whole school trip to Borth.
There they visited the lifeboat station and learnt all about what their job involved.
They were shocked to find out that it is all run by volunteers, so they wanted to raise funds for the lifeboat station.
They also chose to raise money for Christian Aid as they have been learning about those less fortunate than themselves, those children who do no freely receive an education.
Children and staff baked cakes, made banners to advertise their sale then sold them during break time and at the end of the day.
The children raised £157, which was split equally between the two charities.
