A DUDLEY woman received a suspended jail sentence after admitting stealing hundreds of pounds worth of items from the Co-Op.

Jodie Westwood, aged 36, of Sedgley Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty to stealing £235 worth of items from the Co-Op in Kingswinford. She received a 20 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months due to previous convictions, at Dudley Magistrates' Court. The court also imposed a four-week curfew and Westwood was also ordered to pay a £115 surcharge and £185 costs.

The following cases were also heard at Dudley Magistrates' Court last week.

Robert Lee, aged 34, of Yew Tree Hills, Netherton, pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes Sprinter while over the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 16 months and was ordered to pay a £300 fine, alongside a £30 surcharge and £135 costs.

Jahsiah Reid, aged 21, of Grange Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty to driving in Cradley Heath without a licence, insurance and test certificate. He was ordered to pay a fines, a surcharge and costs totalling £367.

Harbans Lal, aged 49, of Brennand Road, Oldbury, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit van while over the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 18 months and was ordered to pay £509 in fines, a surcharge and costs.

Michael Finch, aged 49, of Cromwell Close, Rowley Regis, pleaded guilty to driving a Land Rover Freelander over the legal alcohol limit. He was ordered to pay £135 costs, a £30 surcharge and was fined £150. The court also slapped him with ten points on his licence.

Nathan Wood, aged 29, of Church Lane, West Bromwich, pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon in public without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, namely a home made baseball bat. He received a community order and was ordered to pay a fine, surcharge and costs totalling £395.

James Long, aged 23, of Queens Way, Oldbury, pleaded guilty to failing to attend a drugs assessment after a police sample found cocaine in his system. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £135 costs.

Imran Rafiq, aged 31, of Stafford Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to causing £284.44 worth of unlawful damage to a gaming machine in William Hill in Coseley. He also admitted a further count of causing £1,052.12 of damage to a gaming machine in William Hill in Great Barr. He received a community order and must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months. The court also ordered him to pay £1,336.56 in compensation.
