REPORTS of a body in a canal sparked a search by police in Oldbury.
Police, fire and paramedics were called to Tat Bank Road yesterday (Monday) following reports that a body was in the canal.
West Midlands Police said officers were called to the scene at around 8pm but confirmed it turned out to be a false alarm.
A spokesman for the force said: "The call was reporting a body found in the canal but it was a false alarm.
"A search was conducted and no body was found."
