A NEW-look branch of Wickes has been unveiled in Halesowen.

The new home improvement store was officially opened by the Mayor of Dudley Councillor David Stanley and his Consort, Councillor Anne Millward, along with a group volunteers who helped to spruce up the new centre.

Customers over the opening weekend enjoyed face painters, balloons, free breakfast sandwiches and a visit from the Dulux dog.

Ann Morgan, Store Manager at Wickes, Halesowen, said: “The revamp of the Halesowen store has been designed to make shopping for home improvement projects simpler than ever before, with the new layout making it easier to find everything customers need in one trip. Visitors can look forward to inspirational room sets across kitchens and bathrooms, with a range of worktops, appliances and tiles on display. Our expert Design Consultants will also be on hand to help plan your dream space.”

The store also benefitted from a makeover by volunteers from ICEC Community Centre in Lye who worked for two days to build benches and planters from scratch to brighten up the front of the centre.

All tools were donated by the store and the volunteers were mentored by professional tradespeople.

Store staff and Councillor Mohammed Hanif also chipped in with the work.
