A BRIERLEY Hill man has dodged jail after damaging car windows, committing assault and stealing solar lights.

Mark Davies, aged 41, of Dudley Road, Brierley Hill, pleaded guilty to causing unlawful damage to car windows; damaging a car windscreen; two counts of assault and admitted stealing seven solar lights. He received a 18 week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and was ordered to pay compensation, a surcharge and costs totalling £1,015. He was also ordered to be subject to a curfew for 14 weeks, at Dudley Magistrates' Court.

The following cases were also heard at Dudley Magistrates' Court last week.

Lee Bernard, aged 40, of St Georges Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty to possessing crack cocaine. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge.

Ravinder Gaddou, aged 46, of Witton Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to stealing two coats from Marks and Spencer in Merry Hill worth £278. He also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Dudley Magistrates' Court. He received a 24 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months and was ordered to pay a £122 surcharge and £185 costs.

Dale Mansell, aged 38, of Terry Street, Dudley, pleaded guilty to stealing £24 worth of washing up liquid from the Co-Op worth £24. He received a community order with a curfew requirement and was ordered to pay a £90 surcharge and £130 costs.

Andrew Smith, aged 45, of South Street Baptist Church, Brierley Hill, pleaded guilty to stealing £30 worth of meat from Waitrose in Stourbridge and admitted breaching a conditional discharge order. He was jailed for six weeks due to repeated offending and was ordered to pay £30 in compensation.
