AN emergency closure is in place on a Gornal road that has undergone extensive work this summer.
Vale Street in Upper Gornal is currently closed between Moden Hill and Stone Hill Walk due to a drainage problem.
The work is expected take place until October 4.
Until then, a diversion route is in place in both directions along Moden Hill, Clarence Street and Hill Street.
The closure comes only weeks after the road re-opened following extensive work to widen the road to improve visibility for drivers and to install a 'give way' system.
