A DUDLEY law firm celebrated its centenary with a birthday bash bringing together former employees from over the years.

Wrights Solicitors, based on St James' Road, marked the milestone with a celebration at The Old Glasshouse on October 11.

The party celebrated the firm's family lineage that can be traced back to William Wright who founded the company in Dudley in 1919.

The firm became William Wright & Son in the 1930s when his son joined the company and the family connection still continues today, as the current business manager Clare Mackinnon, is the great-granddaughter of William Wright.

The company rebranded in 2014 to become Wright Solicitors and expanded in 2015 to acquire another law firm in Bewdley.

Employees from over the decades joined in the celebrations with long-standing clients and the Mayor of Dudley, councillor David Stanley.

Joy Hunt, a former employee who left the firm in the 1980s, said: "We were made to feel very welcome and appreciated for our service at Wright’s and I was proud and pleased to be a part of the celebration."

Clare Mackinnon said: "It was lovely to see people who had worked for the firm over 40 years ago and who still had a great deal of affection for Wrights.

"We now look forward to the next 100 years."
